“Danilo’s Europa League Dream Shattered: Rangers Striker Undergoes Second Knee Surgery”
Rangers striker Danilo, who has been plagued by injuries, recently underwent a second surgery on his problematic knee. This has sidelined him from European matches until February. The 25-year-old, who suffered a severe injury last season, has only made brief appearances during the early stages of this season. Now, after his second surgery, the former Feyenoord player – whose transfer could be worth up to £6 million – is expected to be out for at least a month.
Due to this setback, Rangers manager Philippe Clement has had to exclude Danilo from the club’s Europa League squad, which includes matches against teams like Manchester United, Tottenham, and Lyon. The squad now only has two recognized strikers, Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane. Danilo faces a challenging recovery period, especially after his manager previously dismissed concerns about the player’s limp when questioned about it.
Last month, Clement stated, “Dani always walks like that – it’s been the same since he joined the club. I’ve known him for a long time. I tried to bring him to Brugge when he was at Ajax and not playing, and he had that same walk back then. There’s no need to worry about it. There’s nothing wrong with him.”
