“Dallas Cowboys Announce Key Roster Moves Before 2024 Season Kickoff”
As they gear up for their 2024 season opener, the Dallas Cowboys made some roster adjustments on Tuesday.
Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reported that the team waived defensive end Viliami Fehoko and wide receiver David Durden. Fehoko had spent part of the offseason working at defensive tackle but was more suited for the defensive end position.
The Cowboys selected Fehoko in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of San Jose State. That year, Dallas used three of their first four draft picks on defensive players.
Durden, on the other hand, was trying to recover from an ACL injury he suffered last year. He formed a bond with linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and tight end John Stephens, who also experienced ACL tears in 2023.
Durden originally joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent from West Florida, a Division II school.
