“Elvis Andrus to Retire as a Texas Ranger, Marking a Memorable Year for the Franchise”
Although their record this season may not reflect it, the Texas Rangers have had a standout year.
They raised the World Series banner at Globe Life Field, received their World Series rings, and celebrated Adrian Beltre’s induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Now, his close friend and former teammate, Elvis Andrus, has chosen to retire as a Texas Ranger.
The Rangers announced that Andrus will officially retire on Friday before their game against the Angels, where he’ll also throw out the first pitch.
Andrus spent the majority of his career with the Rangers before moving on to play for Oakland and the Chicago White Sox until last season.
