“Roma Sign Mario Hermoso on Three-Year Deal as Free Agent”
Mario Hermoso has signed a three-year contract with Roma as a free agent, with a reported annual salary of €3.5 million.
Despite the transfer window closing in Italy, clubs can still acquire players who are unattached.
After arriving on Sunday and passing his medical, Hermoso finalized the deal later that day.
The contract is reportedly for three years but includes a clause that could see him leave in June 2026.
Hermoso will earn around €3.5 million per year and has chosen to wear the Number 22 shirt.
The 29-year-old Spain international, who left Atletico Madrid after five years following his €25 million transfer from Espanyol, will bolster Roma’s defence.
A product of Real Madrid’s youth system, Hermoso also played for Real Valladolid. Primarily a central defender who can also cover at left-back, he was in discussions with several clubs over the summer, including Milan, Inter, Napoli, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Shabab.
