“Liverpool Set to Open Contract Talks with Salah Amid Interest in Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite”
Liverpool reportedly have a timeline in place to begin contract discussions with Mohamed Salah about extending his stay at Anfield. The Egyptian forward, who joined from AS Roma in 2017, has been a fan favourite on Merseyside.
Now 32 years old, Salah is still performing at his best. Despite the transition following Jurgen Klopp’s departure, he has started well under new manager Arne Slot, scoring three goals and providing three assists in as many matches for Liverpool.
After contributing a goal and two assists in Sunday’s match against Manchester United, Salah addressed his contract situation, revealing that talks with the club had not yet started. He is awaiting to see whether this will be his final season at Liverpool.
Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Salah may not have to wait much longer, as Liverpool are expected to begin contract negotiations with him between now and January in an effort to reach an agreement.
With his contract set to expire in 2025, Salah will be eligible to discuss pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs starting in January under UEFA regulations. Meanwhile, reports claim Liverpool are considering a bold move to sign Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite.
Branthwaite, who has been sidelined with a groin injury this season, attracted significant interest from Manchester United during the summer. However, Everton’s £70 million valuation deterred United from completing the deal.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool remain interested in Branthwaite and have reportedly taken concrete steps, including contacting the player’s agent, to explore the possibility of a move across Stanley Park.
