“Leicester City Starlet Zach Booth Shocks Fans with Bold Move to Dutch Side Excelsior!”
Leicester City midfielder Zach Booth has finalized a permanent move to Dutch club Excelsior, as confirmed by the team. The 20-year-old initially joined Leicester from Real Salt Lake in 2020, starting in the academy before advancing to the development squad. Booth gained valuable experience in the Eredivisie, making 27 appearances for FC Volendam last season, despite their relegation.
Zach’s older brother, Taylor Booth, is also playing in the Netherlands, where he regularly features for Utrecht and has earned two caps for the USMNT due to his strong performances in the Eredivisie. Last season, the Booth brothers faced off, with Taylor scoring a hat-trick and Zach finding the back of the net as well.
Though Booth was not in new Leicester boss Steve Cooper’s immediate plans, Cooper highlighted the significance of young players in an interview with LCFC in July. He emphasized that homegrown talent is crucial, but so is every player, staff member, and supporter, all of whom contribute to building a successful team.
