“Triple Run: Off Celtic to Rangers Loan Spell Comes FC Twente Race For Gustaf Lagerbielke…Read more”

“FC Twente Closing in on Celtic’s Gustaf Lagerbielke for Season-Long Loan”

Celtic’s Swedish defender Gustaf Lagerbielke is set to depart Glasgow before the summer transfer window closes. Interestingly, he could be filling the spot of a player who just signed with Rangers.

UPDATE: FC Twente has had a season-long loan offer accepted for Lagerbielke as they look to replace Robin Propper, who moved to Rangers. Twente is currently ahead of Heerenveen and Lecce in the race for the 24-year-old, according to Sky Sports.

Although the deal isn’t finalized, it seems likely that Lagerbielke will join Twente. He only made 10 appearances for Celtic last season after signing from IF Elfsborg. With Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales, Stephen Welsh, and Maik Nawrocki all ahead of him in the defensive lineup, the loan could offer him more playing time. Lagerbielke, who has been capped twice for Sweden, is under contract with Celtic until 2028.
