“Chelsea Triumphs 6-2 Over Wolves with Madueke’s Hat-Trick and Felix’s Late Strike”
Chelsea secured their first Premier League win of the season with a thrilling 6-2 triumph over Wolves. The first half was action-packed with four goals, as Wolves twice leveled the score after falling behind. In the second half, Noni Madueke stole the show with a hat-trick, and Joao Felix added a late goal off the bench.
Nicolas Jackson gave Chelsea an early lead with a header, but Wolves quickly equalized through Matheus Cunha. Cole Palmer then put Chelsea back in front with a brilliant lob before halftime, but Jorgen Strand Larsen equalized for Wolves just before the break.
Madueke’s deflected shot gave Chelsea the lead after the restart, and he later scored two more goals, including a precise finish and an angled shot. Felix rounded off the scoring, easing the pressure on new manager Enzo Maresca.
Madueke’s performance was particularly noteworthy. Despite criticism from the Molineux crowd and a recent derogatory social media post about Wolverhampton, he responded impressively. His early contribution led to Jackson’s goal, and he dominated Wolves’ defense, showcasing a resilient mentality.
Chelsea’s midfield, however, faced challenges. Despite leading twice in the first half, they could have been behind at halftime due to missed chances by Wolves. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo struggled to control the midfield, with Caicedo’s error leading to Cunha’s goal. Given their combined transfer cost of £222 million, Maresca needs to rethink his midfield strategy for the team’s benefit.
