Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano notes that Jhon Duran could still leave before the transfer deadline, which would necessitate Villa acquiring another attacking player.
Duran has been a transfer target all summer, with West Ham United nearly signing him but eventually opting for Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund instead.
Romano told GiveMeSport that Duran’s potential departure could prompt Villa to seek an additional offensive player.

Duran is seeking more playing time, which he currently doesn’t have at Villa Park, as he is second choice behind Ollie Watkins and will have limited starting opportunities.
Should Duran leave, Aston Villa would need a new striker. They have been linked with Raheem Sterling from Chelsea, but no significant progress has been made, according to Romano.
The decision on whether Duran stays or leaves will determine Villa’s strategy moving forward. If he departs, securing a new striker will be essential to avoid over-relying on Watkins throughout the season.
