Leicester City is very close to confirming their seventh summer purchase, valued at £8 million.

Jordan Ayew is nearing a summer signing for Leicester City, having had a medical prior to his £8 million move from Crystal Palace. A few weeks ago, there was interest in the seasoned forward from Ghana, and since then, things have moved forward. The move might be finalised in time for City’s first away game of the season against Fulham on Saturday (3pm kickoff), since a fee of £5m has been agreed upon.

Although Ayew, who turns 33 next month, has filled a number of positions during his career, he has mostly operated out wide in recent seasons, and City may be looking to improve that position. The club’s pursuit of a new striker before next week’s transfer deadline won’t be impacted by his presence.

Ayew has played a consistent role in Palace’s lineup for six seasons. He participated in thirty of their Premier League games last season, starting thirty of them, and ending with four goals and seven assists. Despite his ability to produce and his strong pressuring at the top of the pitch, he has only scored 12 goals in his last 148 games for the Eagles.

While City has plenty of experience, Ayew brings more. He has participated in 275 Premier League games during stints with Palace, Swansea, and Aston Villa. He would be the seventh summer arrival for the club. Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Michael Golding, Caleb Okoli, Abdul Fatawu, Facundo Buonanotte, and Oliver Skipp are the players that City has signed so far. Prioritising attacking recruits is City’s goal before the deadline on Friday. Although a striker is the preferred option, an additional attacking midfielder may be added. Additionally, it can open the door for loan exits.

In an incredible new offer, Sky has dropped the cost of its Sky Sports, Sky Stream, Sky TV, and Netflix package by £216. The deal covers 1,400 live matches from the Premier League, EFL, and other leagues. Football lovers can enjoy the 2024–2025 season with crystal clear picture quality because Ultra HD is offered at no additional cost.
