Wilson scored 51 goals at youth level for Rangers before moving to Villa, where he netted 15 goals for their under-18s and under-21s during the 2022/23 season, and another 19 last season. He also made his Scotland under-21 debut in October last year after excelling in younger age groups.

If a foreign category one academy signs him, Villa would receive €270,000, paid in three instalments of €90,000. A category two academy club would pay a total of €160,000.
With Wilson’s contract expiring next summer, other clubs can start negotiating with him from January 1, just days before he turns 19. If Wilson leaves, Villa would receive significantly less than what they originally paid for him.
