A “powerful” midfield player who resembles Jude Bellingham is supposedly in talks to sign with Everton.
Standing at 6 foot but boasting immense technical quality, the 23-year-old would represent a fine addition to Sean Dyche‘s midfield should they get this deal over the line.
It’s noted that Everton have ‘already approached’ Frankfurt to ‘define the details’ of a deal, but there has been no contact between club and player.
However, and perhaps most importantly, the selling side are open to sanctioning this exit should the Toffees convince Ebimbe to leave.
Even though they made good summer hires, Everton is still a long way from where they want to be, as demonstrated on Saturday. After all, despite a solid start to the game, those asked to step up simply did not impress at all, with the majority of those new recruits left out of the starting lineup.
Their inability to start with Michael Keane at centre back, their lack of options at right back, and their disappointing lack of speed on the wings all added up to make them too low grade to really threaten Brighton & Hove Albion. Even so, midfield was a cause for concern as well, as Idrissa Gana Gueye’s grave mistake on minute 56 gifted the second goal and all but ended their hopes of a comeback, even if Tim Iroegbunam impressed Sean Dyche.
Kevin Thelwell appears to have strolled back into the market to try to find a solution after witnessing that happen.
For a midfielder in the Bundesliga, Everton is in negotiations According to French publication RMC Sport, which describes Everton’s interest in Bundesliga player Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe, that is at least what they are saying. The Frenchman, who signed permanently in 2023 after making an impression on loan, had a fantastic debut season in Germany after making an impression for Frankfurt last season.
Who is Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe, the Everton target? This talented player, who joined the Paris Saint-Germain development system at the age of twelve, fulfilled his dream of playing for the first squad but was unable to cope with their extravagant expenditures.
As they did with Ebimbe, the French champions have let several young players go for close to nothing, only for them to go on and excel somewhere else. Perhaps the most annoying thing for the Parisian team is that their former player is now being compared to Jude Bellingham, who is regarded as one of the greatest players in the world.
As recently as last year, the official Bundesliga website stated this: “Dina Ebimbe told media upon his Frankfurt unveiling that No. 8 is his preferred role, despite being a naturally right-sided midfielder.” With a rangy pace and the ability to break through opposition ranks, he is also at ease cutting off the opposing flank. In attack mode, he reminds me of former England and Borussia Dortmund great Jude Bellingham.
He led Peguy Luyindula, the sporting coordinator of one of his loan teams, to declare: “He’s powerful, versatile, and knows what he wants” after he scored five goals and provided three assists from the engine room last season. Hopefully, that most recent wish is to join Everton in order to help them with their midfield dilemma.
