BREAKING NEWS> Rangers’ attacking ace is wanted by the club after Neil Lennon was fired.
Fanatik reports that Rapid Bucharest want to sign Ianis Hagi from Rangers after selling Albion Rrahmani to Sparta Prague.
The Romanian publication stated on August 20th on their website that Dan ɘucu, a stakeholder, is aiming to sign the Gers winger in order to make a major transfer move to start the season.
Hagi, whose contract purports to provide him with a pay increase should he play more for the senior team, is now playing for the B Team and has been barred from Ibrox proceedings [Daily Record, 13 August].
Prior to his weekend departure from the Czech Republic, Rangers were thought to be the front-runners to sign Rrahmani when they first pursued him earlier in the season.
Additionally, Rapid recently fired Neil Lennon, the former manager of Celtic.
Is Albion Rrahmani going to be the Rangers’ lucky charm?
While it is by no means the best result given the circumstances—Philippe Clement could have used Rrahmani’s additional firepower up front—it might be pivotal for the window’s closing days if his departure helps to break the impasse at Ibrox.
The manager of the Green Bay Packers has acknowledged that he has several players that he has told can leave the team, and as things stand, it doesn’t appear like he can make any acquisitions while that is the case.
Although Hagi seems to have done nothing wrong, it appears that a condition in the contract the club gave him less than two years ago is the reason he is being let go [Daily Record, August 13].
It was believed that he had a way out to Fiorentina [Digi Sport, July 26], but on August 19, Football Scotland disregarded it.
Fair enough, it appears that the only way to avoid having him stranded in the reserves until at least January, which would be extremely detrimental to Rangers, would be to find him a new home before the August 30 deadline.
