“Leeds Cash In on Key Players: Summerville Heads to West Ham, Rutter to Brighton, and Big Moves on the Horizon”
Leeds have bid farewell to Crysencio Summerville, who is moving to West Ham for over £30 million with add-ons, and Georginio Rutter is also set to join Brighton soon. With Rutter’s departure, Leeds are on track to generate around £120 million from player sales this summer, following the exits of Archie Gray, Glen Kamara, Charlie Cresswell, and three other players.
After Leeds’ 0-0 draw with West Brom on Saturday, Leeds manager Daniel Farke mentioned he is looking to sign two new attacking players to replace Rutter and Summerville, with one available for £19 million.
One player linked with Leeds is Norwich City’s Josh Sargent, whose current valuation is £19.3 million. FC Cincinnati is reportedly interested and has made a £15.5 million offer, while also considering Weston McKennie.
Tom Bogert from The Athletic reported that Cincinnati is keen on both players, with McKennie’s pursuit ongoing and Sargent’s bid of $20 million being lower than Norwich’s asking price of $25 million, with the pursuit likely to continue into the winter.
Farke, who previously managed Sargent at Norwich, praised him for his exceptional performance, particularly in holding the ball and playing against a strong Brighton defense. Leeds had also shown interest in Gabriel Sara, but Galatasaray signed him for over £20 million. Jonathan Rowe remains a target, but Sargent is seen as a costly option.
