Brighton’s young manager Fabian Hurzeler marked his Premier League debut with a notable victory, leaving Everton to start their final season at Goodison Park on a low note.
Everton has called Goodison Park home since 1892 but will relocate to Bramley-Moore Dock for the next season.
As the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history, Hurzeler and his Brighton team showed no mercy to their opponents.

Everton’s hopes were dashed when a penalty decision was overturned after Lewis Dunk appeared to foul Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with referee Simon Hooper reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor.
Frustrated, Everton conceded further as Idrissa Gueye’s misplaced pass allowed Brighton to counterattack, and Danny Welbeck scored a fine goal from the edge of the box.
Things worsened for Everton when Ashley Young was sent off for a foul on Mitoma, and Simon Adingra added a third goal for Brighton late in the match, sealing a disheartening defeat for the home side.
