“From Trade Criticisms to Classy Comebacks: Cody Glass’s Response to His New Penguins Role”

A few days after being traded from the Nashville Predators to the Pittsburgh Penguins, Cody Glass addressed a critic online in the best way possible.

Barry Trotz, the Predators’ general manager, wanted to move Glass’ contract and struck a deal with Kyle Dubas. The Penguins acquired the 25-year-old forward and his $2.5 million contract, along with a 2025 3rd round pick and a 2026 6th round pick in exchange for Jordan Frasca.

The Penguins made an official announcement about the trade.

Glass, who was drafted 6th overall in 2017 by the Vegas Golden Knights as the franchise’s first-ever pick, has struggled to meet expectations and joined the Nashville Predators in 2021.

In his 187 NHL games, he has recorded 29 goals and 42 assists. Despite participating in three playoff games, he didn’t score.

As a result, some Penguins fans were displeased with the trade and expressed their frustration on social media, with one calling him a ‘scrub’.

Glass saw the comment and responded positively.

It’s clear that Glass will face considerable scrutiny from Penguins fans next season, similar to Kyle Dubas, who is known for making surprising and sometimes contentious decisions.
