To replace Dominic Solanke at Bournemouth, a highly-rated Barcelona player seems a surprising choice.
It’s critical that Bournemouth finds a successor for Dominic Solanke now that his transfer to Tottenham has been confirmed, ideally ahead of their Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest in 2024–25.
With limited time, Andoni Iraola and his group must move quickly to find a suitable successor for the public darling Solanke, as well as someone who they believe can help them achieve their objectives. There is obviously a short window of opportunity, which may be the reason the Cherries appear to be turning to a player who has never played in the English Premier League. Dominic Solanke might be replaced at Bournemouth by a Barcelona star.
According to Transfermarkt, he has only played 353 minutes of football in Europe overall. fewer than four full games. It doesn’t appear like that has stopped Bournemouth from pursuing Barcelona’s 19-year-old Vitor Roque.
Bar Canaletes on X (previously Twitter) reports that the two teams are trying to reach a mutual understanding after concluding the agreement for Julian Araujo to relocate from Catalonia to the South Coast of England. After being signed by Barcelona in January of last year, Roque was seldom used by manager Xavi. It’s thought that Xavi left because he wasn’t playing him, but it’s also evident that Hansi Flick didn’t have plans for the young player, so it’s best for everyone if he went on swiftly.
It’s unclear at this point if the player is enthusiastic about playing for Bournemouth, but if it comes down to having the option of either being given a chance to play to your best ability or sitting on the bench at best, there really isn’t a choice at all. The only thing that would then need to be determined is whether any deal would be temporary or long-term.
