After seven years, Alvaro Morata, the former striker for Chelsea, splits from his wife.
After seven years of marriage, Alvaro Morata, a former striker for Chelsea and Real Madrid, and his wife Alice Campello have called it quits. Only two weeks after the couple was seen cuddling up on a beach while on a family vacation in Sardinia, their divorce has been officially confirmed. On July 14, Campello was also seen supporting her husband as he guided Spain to victory in the Euro 2024 final. After spending two seasons at Atletico Madrid, Morata joined Milan. He was recently seen signing shirts for Milan supporters without his wedding ring.
Morata announced their breakup on Monday, saying on Instagram, “After some time of reflection, Alice and I have decided to part ways.” A BEAUTIFUL and RESPECTFUL mutual partnership in which we have really loved and supported one another. Our four children are without a doubt the best thing we have ever done, and they are the product of these amazing years. We beg for your understanding and respect because this was a difficult decision. Don’t make up stories to gain attention because, as I say again, there has never been a lack of respect—just a lot of ongoing miscommunications that gradually erode things.
“I will always hold a special place in my heart for Alice, and the experiences we have shared have been amazing and educational.” The Italian influencer Campello has since deleted all mention of her spouse from her social media profiles. Alice Campello Morata was her previous name; she went back to just Alice Campello on the internet. Additionally, Campello posted on social media, saying, “It is the hardest decision we have ever made in our lives, Alvaro and I have decided to separate.” Like he has, I want to be clear that neither of us has disrespected anyone or brought in outsiders.
All I can say is that, for these eight years, I have had someone at my side who has prioritised, looked out for, and respected me; as a result, I cannot allow rumours to spread or the choice to make the announcement “so soon.” “I don’t want you to believe that any of the images we’ve been sharing on Instagram are false.” We adore each other more than words can express, yet eventually a lot of miscommunications mount up, are mishandled, and eventually things blow up in our faces.
We have always vowed to honour each other’s experiences, to never get to the point of hurting or becoming poisonous to one another, and to end things before that ever occurs, and that is exactly what we have done. “I just want to wish Alvaro the best ALWAYS and thank him for everything he has done for me, including taking care of me and being a father and husband.” June 2017 saw the marriage of Morata and Campello, just before he transferred from Real Madrid to Chelsea. They have a daughter and three sons, including twins.
