Exclusive: With Dominic Solanke expected to go, Bournemouth has now moved to sign a £30 million player from Arsenal.
Dominic Solanke may be headed to Tottenham, and his exit might have a cascading impact on Arsenal, Spurs’ north London rivals. The mega-money deal that Solanke is expected to sign with Tottenham appears to have accelerated in the past few days.
Tottenham will now have a number nine in the building, while Bournemouth will be severely short-staffed for the upcoming campaign. But according to TBR Football, the Cherries have already made enquiries about Eddie Nketiah, a star for Arsenal, as a possible alternative. Eddie Nketiah is a target for Bournemouth, while Dominic Solanke is headed to Tottenham.
As they prepare to sell Dominic Solanke, TBR Football has learnt that Bournemouth has made a late inquiry to Arsenal on Eddie Nketiah.
As part of their research into possible new strikers, Bournemouth has looked at players like Tammy Abraham and Cameron Archer.
The Cherries have reportedly questioned about Nketiah and are scouting throughout Europe for possible acquisitions.
With Nketiah’s personal terms fully agreed upon, Arsenal is prepared to approve a loan agreement with an obligation worth £30 million including add-ons. According to TBR, Roberto De Zerbi is putting a lot of effort into getting Nketiah to sign with Marseille, and Bournemouth has reached out to see if they may swoop in and steal the player.
Marseille has been strongly connected to Nketiah in recent days, but the French team is refusing to meet the asking price. Nketiah may therefore be given another opportunity to remain in England by Bournemouth, and there have also been rumours that Everton is interested in him.
