“Milan Blocks Okafor Transfer Amid Pursuit of Roma’s Tammy Abraham”
AC Milan’s player Noah Okafor has become a possible bargaining chip in a deal to bring Roma’s Tammy Abraham to the San Siro. However, as reported by Calciomercato, Paulo Fonseca’s team has decided to take the Swiss international off the transfer market, indicating that they won’t use him in negotiations with Roma.
Okafor, a versatile 25-year-old forward, joined Milan from RB Salzburg last summer. His first season in Serie A was underwhelming, as he managed seven goals and two assists across 29 appearances, despite being deployed in various attacking roles. However, his future at Milan isn’t over yet.
Fonseca has been impressed with Okafor’s dedication and determination during pre-season and is willing to give him another chance. This decision puts an end to rumors of Okafor being included in a swap deal for Abraham.
While Milan is not planning to part ways with Okafor, they are still eager to sign Abraham. Despite Alvaro Morata’s recent arrival, Milan is looking to strengthen their attacking options further, with Abraham being a prime target. However, they need to negotiate a suitable deal with Roma.
Daniele De Rossi’s Roma no longer sees Abraham as essential after signing Artem Dovbyk from Girona. Nonetheless, Roma is hoping to secure around €25 million for the English striker, a price that Milan is unlikely to meet.
