Nicolas Kuhn joined Matt O’Riley in dancing to Kyogo’s tune, and the German also enjoyed watching Anthony Ralston showcase his goal-scoring skills as the champions soared to the top of the Premiership.

Celtic’s trio celebrated Kuhn’s goal in their victory over Kilmarnock with a lively dance routine. Reo Hatate, with his graceful movements, stole the show as the team dazzled against the Ayrshire side on the opening day. The Japanese midfielder scored the first goal, but it was only after Kuhn netted the third that they unveiled the dance inspired by Kyogo.

Kuhn said, “One of us had to score to do the celebration. We had planned it beforehand. We listened to some Japanese music in the dressing room, and then Kyogo came up with the dance. So I’m happy that I scored.”

Though Kuhn doesn’t consider himself the best dancer at the club, he’s willing to give it a try. He added, “I think Luis is the best dancer. We’ve got a great group of guys here, and I’m just happy to be part of it.”

Ralston might have been the one to dance, as his goal, the fourth of the day, secured Celtic’s usual top spot after the first weekend. It was also the defender’s first club goal since his dramatic winner against Ross County in December 2021, during Ange Postecoglou’s first season.

Maybe he needs to score a few more goals before he joins in. But we were really happy for him to score at the end. It just shows how much we all share the joy.”

Kuhn understands that playing for Celtic is serious business, but the team’s enjoyment of their opening-day win was evident both on the field and in the stands. Under Rodgers, the team had some inconsistency last season as they adapted to his style, but they eventually found their rhythm in the final three months.
