After several weeks of negotiations, AC Milan is close to finalizing their second major acquisition of the summer transfer window. The Italian club has reached a preliminary agreement with Red Bull Salzburg for the transfer of Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic.
According to Calciomercato, the negotiations have been ongoing for several days and are now nearing completion. Milan’s management, led by Giorgio Furlani, has been working diligently to secure the deal.
The clubs have settled on a base fee of approximately €19-20 million for Pavlovic. Finalizing the details regarding bonuses and the clauses that would trigger them is currently underway. Once these aspects are resolved, the transfer is expected to be concluded promptly.
Pavlovic, standing 194 cm tall and weighing 85 kg, is poised to sign a five-year contract with Milan. The Serbian international’s deal is reportedly worth €1.5 million per season.
The 22-year-old center-back is considered a crucial addition to strengthen Milan’s defense, which has shown weaknesses recently. His arrival is meant to enhance the team’s backline without replacing any current players.
There are also rumors about Newcastle United’s interest in Milan’s German defender Malick Thiaw. If Thiaw leaves, Milan’s management team, including Moncada, Furlani, and Ibrahimovic, would likely seek another replacement in the transfer market.
