“From Premier League Struggles to LAFC: Lewis O’Brien’s Quest for Redemption”

Lewis O’Brien’s difficult stint at Nottingham Forest might be coming to an end as the midfielder is reportedly set to move abroad to revitalize his career.

O’Brien, who joined Forest from Huddersfield Town following their promotion two years ago, has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League. His first season was marred by illness, and he spent time on loan at DC United in March 2023 after a proposed transfer to Blackburn Rovers fell through.

Now, the 25-year-old appears ready to return to the US to find a new club, with a recent loan at Middlesbrough not leading to a permanent deal. Transfer expert Alan Nixon reports that Forest have allowed O’Brien to join LAFC on loan, with a potential £5 million transfer in the future."QUEST FOR REDEMPTION:"Forest Midfielder Set for Career Revival with Move to LAFC...Read more "

Although several clubs, including Ipswich Town, Luton Town, Burnley, Sheffield United, and Championship teams like Preston North End and Norwich City, have shown interest in O’Brien, they prefer a loan deal. Forest, however, is looking to sell. Nixon notes that the opportunity to play and live in the US has tipped the scales in LAFC’s favor.

Reflecting on his time at Forest before his loan to Middlesbrough, O’Brien stated, “I want to challenge myself again and prove people wrong. My career was progressing well but then stagnated, and I feel I still have a lot to prove. There were external factors affecting my performance, not a lack of ability. I’m eager to get back on the pitch and show what I can do.”
