A pair of Parramatta Eels players have also been linked to an early exit.
As the Parramatta Eels prepare to undergo a rebuild under future coach Jason Ryles, two more players have been linked to a possible early departure from the club. Confirmed to take over interim coach Trent Barrett next season, Ryles hopes to lead the Eels to the finals for the first time since 2022, when they faced the Penrith Panthers in the Grand Final.
There have been rumors, according to Fox Sports, that the Parramatta Eels are attempting to trade Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Maika Sivo before their contracts expire, but nothing is confirmed.
Maika Sivo has a contract that runs to the end of 2027 (with a mutual and club option for 2026), however after being lowered to the NSW Cup in May of this year, there have been rumors that she may leave Parramatta. He was made available to the Super League earlier this year on a contract said to be worth about $550,000 per season, with reports suggesting that the Eels were willing to cover a sizeable amount of his salary, according to League Express.
Conversely, Reagan Campbell-Gillard, a NSW Blues representative, has a contract that expires at the end of 2025 for a salary of almost $750,000 per season, and according to Fox Sports, he had previously considered playing in the Super League.
Though he has a contract that expires at the conclusion of the 2026 season, second-rower Ryan Matterson was given permission to contact with opposing teams and see if any offers were made for his services, which is when the rumors started. Journalist Michael Chammas stated on 100% Footy on Monday, “Nothing’s happened as yet, but the conversation has occurred with his management to give him basically a little tap on the shoulder that, if there’s anything out there, it might be worth having a look around.”
