“Key Player Zigiotti Leaves Brighton & Hove Albion Amid Summer Exits”
The Seagulls announced the player’s departure via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Zigiotti joined Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2022 from Swedish club BK Häcken. During her time with the Sussex club, the 26-year-old made 51 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Super League, scoring four goals.
Zigiotti has been a consistent performer for Brighton & Hove Albion and has captained the team during her tenure in England. However, she is now ready for a new challenge.
After the announcement of Zigiotti’s departure, Zoe Johnson, the club’s managing director of women’s and girls’ football, said, “Julia has been an important player in the dressing room since her arrival, captaining the team on many occasions.
“We thank her for her contributions here and wish her the best of luck for the future.”
Zigiotti is the seventh first-team player to leave Brighton & Hove Albion this summer. Her national team colleague Emma Kullberg is also among the club’s offseason departures.
