“Bronny James Shines with Best Summer League Performance for Lakers”
Bronny James delivered his best performance in five games with the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. The son of NBA star LeBron James scored 12 points, helping the Lakers edge out the Atlanta Hawks 87-86 in the Summer League.
James started strong, hitting four of his first five shots, including his first 3-pointer of the summer after 17 attempts. He finished the game shooting 5 for 11 from the field and 2 for 5 from three-point range.
This marked a significant improvement for James, who had previously struggled with shooting, going 7 for 31 overall and 4 for 19 in his last two games in Las Vegas.
Throughout the summer league, spanning three games in Las Vegas and two earlier ones in San Francisco, James, the 55th pick in this year’s draft, has averaged 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, with a 29% shooting percentage.
Last season, during his freshman year at Southern California, James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He joined the team late due to a procedure for a congenital heart issue discovered after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a workout last summer.
