“Aston Villa Pursue Girona Defender Viktor Tsygankov Amid Growing Interest”
Aston Villa have expressed interest in Girona defender Viktor Tsygankov, with manager Unai Emery already informing the Ukrainian that he wants him at Villa Park, according to AS. Despite this interest, Girona remains calm, welcoming Tsygankov back with open arms after his Euro 2024 participation.
The defender is still part of Girona’s plans, and manager Míchel had previously urged the club to secure a new deal for him.
However, with a €30 million termination clause in Tsygankov’s contract, several clubs, including Aston Villa, are now interested in him. While Villa hasn’t made a formal offer yet, they have contacted his representatives to express their intent to pursue him soon.
The club is currently strategizing on how to persuade Tsygankov and negotiate with Girona. Although Villa can offer Champions League football, Girona can too, leaving Tsygankov to wait and see how the transfer market evolves before deciding on his future.
