“Rangers’ Transfer Strategy Unfolds: Targets and Challenges Ahead”
Rangers are not anticipating any immediate transfer activity but are still active in the market, according to Four Lads. Posting on their personal X account on 11 July, they mentioned that the Light Blues have several targets as Philippe Clement aims to strengthen his squad for the 2024/25 season.
Although there are expected to be both arrivals and departures at Ibrox before the transfer window closes next month, no deals are imminent right now, but more business is likely in the coming weeks.
Clement has already signed six new players and seen six leave after last season, leaving the squad arguably no stronger. New arrivals Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Oscar Cortes, Connor Barron, Liam Kelly, and Hamza Igamane have replaced John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic, Jon McLaughlin, Kemar Roofe, and Robby McCrorie, but questions remain over several positions.
A pre-season match against Standard Liege, which ended 0-0, featured different lineups in each half, and neither seemed particularly competitive against Celtic. With pre-season already underway, delaying further signings is not ideal, and the manager will likely be frustrated. However, the priority is to secure the necessary additions before the season starts to avoid a slow start.
