Rangers and Brighton have differing valuations for Abdallah Sima in the ongoing summer transfer window, according to Joshua Barrie.
Barrie, reporting via the Morning Briefing (9 July, 20:55), stated that while the Senegal international enjoyed his time in Glasgow, Brighton’s asking price exceeds what Rangers are willing to pay. Whether this valuation gap narrows as the transfer window progresses will hinge on interest from other clubs, but currently, Rangers appear unable to meet Brighton’s demands.
Speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel, Barrie remarked, “Sima has one year left on his contract with an option for another year. The latest I’ve heard on a permanent deal is that there’s a divergence in valuation between Brighton and Rangers. Sima expressed a strong affinity for Rangers, as did his agent.”
“It’s a situation where Rangers may not be able to match Brighton’s financial expectations for a permanent transfer. Whether this changes as the transfer window unfolds will likely depend on interest from other clubs.”
The prospect of Sima returning to Rangers at Ibrox this summer has always been challenging, especially after Brighton indicated their intent to explore the market for his permanent sale.
