“Roma Seek Seven New Signings Despite Enzo Le Fée’s Arrival Amid Major Squad Overhaul”
Enzo Le Fée may have arrived from Rennes, but Roma still require seven more signings to replace the players who departed this summer.
The Giallorossi are undergoing a major overhaul following the exits of Jose Mourinho and sporting director Tiago Pinto in January.
New manager Florent Ghisolfi secured a deal for midfielder Le Fée, who arrived yesterday and will complete his €23m transfer in the coming days.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights that coach Daniele De Rossi is managing a severely depleted squad after numerous players left the club.
Many, including Romelu Lukaku, Sardar Azmoun, Diego Llorente, Dean Huijsen, Renato Sanches, and Rasmus Kristensen, were on loan, while Rui Patricio and Leonardo Spinazzola’s contracts expired.
Roma now needs seven reinforcements across all positions, including a second-choice goalkeeper, a center-back, and two full-backs.
One goalkeeping option is Monterrey’s veteran Esteban Andrada, whose contract expires in 2025. Another potential full-back is Antonino Gallo of Lecce, the son-in-law of De Rossi’s assistant manager Guillermo Giacomazzi.
Additionally, Roma needs another full-back as Rick Karsdorp remains excluded from the main squad, a situation that occurred under Mourinho and continues with De Rossi.
In attack, Roma is considering Georgia international and FC Metz forward Georges Mikautadze, a more affordable option than Villarreal’s €35m-rated Alexander Sorloth. If Federico Chiesa does not transfer from Juventus, another candidate is Atletico Madrid’s 24-year-old Rodrigo Riquelme.
