“Roma Target Marc Pubill and Warren Kamanzi to Strengthen Right-Back Position”
Roma have a gap on the right side of their defense and have shortlisted two players early in the transfer window: Marc Pubill from Almeria and Warren Kamanzi from Toulouse. Rasmus Kristensen did not secure a permanent move after his loan from Leeds United. Additionally, Rick Karsdorp has been sidelined as he prepares to leave, practicing separately during pre-season, according to Sky.
This leaves Zeki Celik as the only current option for that position. Although they were later linked to Raoul Bellanova, Torino may be reluctant to part with more key players after selling Alessandro Buongiorno. Roma also considered Guéla Doué, but he is on the verge of signing with Rennes.
At this point, Roma’s focus is on Pubill and Kamanzi. Pubill scored once and provided three assists in 23 La Liga matches last season. He previously played for Levante before Almeria signed him for €5 million last year.
Kamanzi, a Norwegian talent, moved to Toulouse from Tromso in January 2023 for €600,000. He has four assists in 48 appearances for Toulouse and has three caps with the U-21 national team.
Our Take on Roma, Pubill, and Kamanzi the right-back position has been a weak spot for a few years, and Celik is also inconsistent, so they need a reliable player. However, it seems Roma will opt for a younger option, having already spent part of their budget on their first summer signing and planning to allocate the remaining funds on a winger and a striker, which is somewhat understandable.
