“Golden State Bolsters Backcourt with Buddy Hield Trade”
The Golden State Warriors are acquiring guard Buddy Hield in a sign-and-trade deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to multiple media reports on Thursday.
In return, the Warriors will send the Sixers a 2031 second-round pick, which they acquired from the Dallas Mavericks in the sign-and-trade deal for Klay Thompson.
Hield, 31, is set to earn $18 million over the first two years, with a $3 million partial guarantee for the 2026-27 season, as reported by ESPN. Additionally, he will have a player option for a non-guaranteed fourth season.
Hield, a 40 percent 3-point shooter, along with new teammate Stephen Curry, ranks among the top two 3-point scorers over the past five seasons.
Last season, Hield averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists across 84 games with the 76ers and Indiana Pacers.
