“Borussia Dortmund Aim to Outmaneuver Premier League Rivals for Serhou Guirassy”
Newcastle United are among several Premier League clubs likely to be disappointed in their pursuit of Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy. The Guinea international had an exceptional season in the Bundesliga, scoring 30 goals in as many appearances, and played a crucial role in helping Stuttgart finish as runners-up and qualify for the Champions League.
Guirassy’s impressive form and a reported £15m release clause in his contract have attracted interest from several European clubs, including Manchester United, West Ham United, and Arsenal. Newcastle closely monitored him last season to strengthen their attack. In an interview with The Guardian, Guirassy hinted at a potential Premier League move, expressing his admiration for the league’s competitiveness but also leaving the door open for other opportunities in Europe.
However, recent reports from Germany indicate that Borussia Dortmund is keen to keep Guirassy in the Bundesliga. Dortmund, who reached the Champions League final last season, have undergone a managerial change, with former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin taking over from Edin Terzić. Despite the managerial change, Dortmund’s plans to sign Guirassy remain intact, with Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reporting that the deal is still on track, although some financial details are yet to be finalized.
