The Rangers player, who is getting close to Ibrox’s exit, might close the transaction in a few hours.

The Fourth Official claims that Scott Wright’s Rangers leave and move to Sheffield Wednesday are almost complete and may be finalized in a matter of hours. The winger, for whom the Light Blues are open to bids this summer, is getting closer to moving to Hillsborough as negotiations between all sides continue, the outlet said on its YouTube channel on July 4.

Wright only has one year left on his Glasgow contract, but the Owls have reportedly sought him during the summer season because their manager, Danny Rohl, is a fan of the Scottish winger [Daily Record, June 29]. “My understanding is that, that is a deal close to completion and that may well be completed over the next 48 hours or so,” the Fourth Official stated in a YouTube video.

With transfer rumors involving Sheffield Wednesday, will Scott Wright leave Rangers? Rangers has been planning Wright’s departure for some time since it was evident in Philippe Clement’s first Glasgow season that the Scotsman lacked the necessary skills to be a consistent starter in the biggest games.

The winger was regularly benched or kept out of the matchday squad during major games last season, which was a sign that his future was not looking well for the Belgian. As a result, he was not afraid to leave the player out on many occasions. Some may contend that he still has something to give when wearing a Rangers jersey, but his playing time would be severely restricted given that Oscar Cortes’ loan in Glasgow has been prolonged and more new players are anticipated in the upcoming weeks.

By trading him now, the Giants avoid losing him when his contract expires at the end of the following season and give themselves the chance to profit from his services, even if only for a nominal sum.

This is great business for the Light Blues, and they should be commended for taking the lessons learned from their previous blunders under previous management, if this deal is as near to conclusion as has been claimed.
