Aston Villa has agreed to take on the Bayern Munich midfielder on loan.
Jill Baijings, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, has officially signed a loan with Aston Villa for the 2024–2025 season. Baijings is Robert de Pauw’s first summer addition.
A stint at Bayer Leverkusen followed stints with Heerenveen and SGS Essen, where Baijings scored in her league debut against MSV Duisburg in September 2022. A year later, she made her debut for Alexander Straus’ Bayern Munich team, making 15 games and dishing up two assists.
“We are delighted to add Jill,” stated Lee Billiard, Aston Villa’s head of women’s football. We have been following her for some time since we think she possesses many important qualities that could improve the team’s results. Jill is a talented young player who we are excited to have on board.
Baijings, who had a great 2022–2023 season with Bayer Leverkusen under the Dutchman’s tutelage, will be excited to play under Robert de Pauw once more. During that season, she started 22 games in all competitions, scoring seven goals and dishing out another six assists.
The opening games of the 2024–25 season are set for the weekend of September 21 and 22, therefore Baijings will be hoping to make her Barclays Women’s Super League debut in September.
