Guimaraes participated in 50 matches for Newcastle across all competitions during an injury-plagued 2023-24 season. Additionally, he has played seven times for Brazil in the ongoing Copa America.

“I don’t even know!” Guimaraes said via UOL. “It involves a lot of training, investment in post-match recovery equipment, physiotherapy, and a nutritionist. These factors make a difference.
“I played [63] games this season, a personal record. Recovering has been tough, but it’s worth it to be part of the team.
“The Premier League is very intense. Off the pitch, it’s crucial to recover well, eat well, and sleep well.”
Guimaraes will have a short break after the Copa America before returning to Newcastle for pre-season training later this month. Arsenal and Manchester City have shown interest in him this summer, but neither club triggered his £100 million release clause in his Newcastle contract.
Now that the clause has expired, Newcastle plans to keep the 26-year-old, with no official bids made so far.
