“Rangers’ European Campaign: Seeded for Success in Champions League Qualifiers”
Rangers are anticipating one of six teams in the Champions League third qualifying round. Philippe Clement’s team is seeded for the qualifiers, suggesting they might face an easier draw.
Thanks to their strong coefficient ranking, earned from previous European successes, Rangers hold the top seed position at this stage of the competition. This places Rangers alongside Slavia Prague, Red Bull Salzburg, and Lille as the seeded teams for the third qualifying round.
They will face unseeded teams from either Union Saint-Gilloise, FC Twente, or the winners of clubs in the second qualifying round of the league path. Lugano will meet Fenerbahce, while Partizan will take on Dynamo Kyiv in the earlier rounds. Matches are scheduled for July 23-24, with the second leg set for July 30-31.
The draw for the third qualifying round is set for July 22, and Rangers are slated to begin their campaign in the tournament on August 6-7, with the return leg on August 13. If Rangers advance past the third qualifying round, they will progress to the play-off round of the Champions League with a chance to reach the group stage.
In the event that Rangers are eliminated in the third qualifying round, they will drop into the Europa League play-off round. If they lose in the Europa League play-off round, Rangers would then enter the Europa League group phase.
