“Olympic Striker Kiko Joins Albion After Stellar Career with Urawa Reds”

The striker will reunite with her new Albion teammates after returning from the Paris Olympics, just in time for the new Barclays Women’s Super League season.

Zoe Johnson, the managing director of women’s and girls’ football, expressed her excitement, stating, “We’re thrilled to welcome Kiko to the club. She brings a wealth of experience from playing at the highest level in Japan, which earned her a spot in the Olympic squad for the upcoming tournament.

We are eager to work with Kiko and watch her career progress in the WSL.”

The 27-year-old joins us following a 15-year tenure with Urawa Reds, where she made over 150 appearances.

She netted 40 goals, including 20 last season, to become the league’s top scorer as Urawa defended their league title. She also received the league’s Most Valuable Player award.

Since her debut in 2019, Kiko has made 21 appearances for Japan, including three last season, and will be part of Japan’s squad for the Paris Olympics in July and August.
