Newcastle United have reopened discussions with AC Milan following their acquisition of Sandro Tonali last summer, and they are preparing a substantial offer for Malick Thiaw, according to a report.

The German defender joined Milan in the summer of 2022 for €7m, including bonuses from Schalke 04, and has had a challenging season, partly due to an injury that sidelined him for several months.
The Magpies are reportedly willing to offer €40m for Thiaw, indicating their belief in his future potential despite his difficult year. However, Milan also have faith in Thiaw and do not consider this amount sufficient.
