Cherries announce their preseason matchup with Arsenal.
CHERRIES have declared that they will play a preseason friendly against Arsenal. During their separate summer tours of the United States, the two Premier League teams will square off. On Saturday, July 20, the Cherries take on League One Wrexham as part of their preseason itinerary. After that, on Wednesday, July 24 at 7.30 p.m. local time in California, they will play Mikel Arteta’s Gunners before leaving for England.
The LA Galaxy’s home field, Dignity Health Sports Park, is located south of Los Angeles’ downtown. This is the venue for the game. Pre-sale tickets for Cherries season tickets, those with 19 or more home points, and those who had expressed interest in attending the pre-season tour will go on sale on July 1 at 6 p.m. UK time. Monday at 6 p.m. will thereafter be the general sale. “We’re delighted to announce this match and to confirm the final plans of our Bourne in the USA tour this month,” stated Neill Blake, chief executive of Cherries.
“Arsenal will no doubt provide Andoni and the squad with stern opposition, as our pre-season schedule continues to build towards the beginning of the Premier League campaign. “We’re excited for the opportunity to play at Dignity Health Sports Park and to see both new and existing Cherries fans create a wonderful atmosphere at such a great stadium.” After returning from America, Cherries’ next games are against La Liga teams Rayo Vallecano (August 4) and Girona (August 10), followed by Nottingham Forest’s Premier League opener on August 17.
After facing Iraola’s team, Arsenal—who finished second in the league the previous season and defeated Cherries twice—will play Manchester United and Liverpool in the US.
