He reported that selling Kehrer to Monaco for £9.3m, Trott to Copenhagen for £1.3m, and Benrahma to Lyon for £12.2m has raised £22.8m in transfer funds for this summer. This will be added to an existing £60m budget, totaling £82.8m, of which £19.5m has been spent on Luis Guilherme, leaving around £63.3m remaining.
While £63.3 million might not seem like a vast amount, the potential sales of players like Nayef Aguerd and Flynn Downes could push this figure beyond the £100 million mark.
It’s important to note that Steidten mentioned the club doesn’t need to sell players to make new purchases, suggesting he might have more funds available than initially disclosed. West Ham ideally needs at least five more signings, if not more. Steidten was brought in for his ability to find hidden gems, so let’s hope he can prove his worth by signing players that offer great value for money.
