“Sixers Lead the Charge to Sign Paul George as Free Agency Looms”

Paul George appears to be on his way out of LA, having opted out of his contract for the upcoming season and entering free agency. While he could still return to the Clippers, reports now indicate that the Philadelphia 76ers are leading the race to sign the nine-time All-Star.

Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer has reported that the Sixers are now the frontrunners to acquire George, a six-time All-NBA forward. The Clippers’ refusal to offer George a max-level extension has pushed the 34-year-old to explore free agency, despite turning down a guaranteed $48.7 million for 2024-25. The 76ers are reportedly willing to offer a max contract to secure his services.

Pompey also mentioned that if George joins the Sixers, he will likely work to recruit additional players to help build a championship-caliber roster. All signs point to George being in a Sixers uniform on opening night.
