“Daniele De Rossi Extends Roma Contract Until 2027 Amid Summer Transfer Concerns”
Daniele De Rossi has signed a two-year contract extension, committing to Roma until 2027 after a strong half-season as head coach. The Giallorossi joyfully announced the new deal on X.
De Rossi, who spent nearly his entire playing career at Roma, returned to the club last January to replace Jose Mourinho. Although he didn’t manage to get the team back into the Champions League in his first six months, the 40-year-old has gained the trust of the club’s leadership.
He led Roma to the Europa League semi-finals, where they were eliminated by Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen. Roma finished sixth in Serie A, with De Rossi overseeing 26 matches, achieving 14 wins, six draws, and six losses.
Before finalizing his new contract, Roma’s management had already confirmed in April that De Rossi would remain as head coach. They stated: “After meeting with Daniele De Rossi, we are delighted to announce he will continue as head coach of AS Roma after this season and for the foreseeable future. Daniele leads with respect and courage, and his strong connection to the club aligns with Roma’s values, city, and passionate fans.”
However, this summer could be challenging for De Rossi and Roma supporters, as standout player Paulo Dybala has once again attracted interest from Manchester United, with Erik ten Hag pushing to bring the Argentine to Old Trafford.
