DONE DEAL: Scotland Under-21 international Connor Barron of Aberdeen signs a contract with Rangers
Rangers, the Premiership’s dominant team, has confirmed the signing of Scotland Under-21 international Connor Barron to a four-year contract.
After his contract expires in Aberdeen, the 21-year-old—who has previously played for his country at the Under-16 and Under-19 levels—heads to Ibrox. Since making his senior debut in 2022, he has made more than 50 appearances.
“I am absolutely delighted,” Barron stated on the Rangers’ official website. My first conversation with the club made it clear to me that this was the right place for me to be. It felt like everything was in order, and I believe that this is the greatest location for me to be at this point in my career.
“I truly want to be a part of this club, where there is a strong desire to win football games and trophies.
“I can’t wait to get started. It was a big decision for me, but talking to the manager and staff made it easy.”
Finding a young but seasoned player to join the team thrilled manager Philippe Clement.
“We are thrilled to welcome Connor to the club,” Clement stated. He is a young, gifted player who has the proper mindset and a plenty of experience from playing in Europe and the Scottish Premiership.
