Al Horford: “I want another title, and I guarantee a return to the Celtics.”
Al Horford hopes to add to his collection of rings next season, as he told TMZ Sports he is definitely not retiring and will be rejoining the Boston Celtics. It took Horford 17 years to win his first NBA championship.
Fresh off his team’s championship victory over the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals, we chatted with the seasoned veteran. Although many might think he would think about calling it a career, the 38-year-old assured us that’s not at all the case.
Horford declared, “There’s no question about it,” during his Boston shift at Raising Cane’s. “I have no idea why there were rumors circulating that I was about to retire. However, I’m still competing, and I’m eager for the upcoming season.”
Horford has every right to be happy because he experienced winning back-to-back championships with the Florida Gators during his collegiate career.
When we asked Horford what advice he would give his colleagues on the difficulty of defending a championship, he replied that it would be part taking it all in and half getting back to work.
Horford chose to work a shift at Raising Cane’s and spend part of his day interacting with hundreds of Cs fans while he revels in his newfound success.
He handled the kitchen and counter, but don’t worry, he still found time to savor some of those mouthwatering tenders.
Horford gave us a great response when we asked him about being the first-ever Dominican NBA champion.
