Exclusive: Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea consider acquiring the £40 million Bournemouth star.
Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth is being watched by Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea in anticipation of a possible summer transfer. The Transfers Podcast has learned that the left back is not happy at the Vitality Stadium.
This summer, all three Premier League clubs are looking to add a dependable player to that position, and a deal worth more than £40 million is reportedly on the table.
Kerkez, a 20-year-old left back who is presently representing Hungary in Euro 2024, is regarded as an exceptional athlete.
However, the full back’s tactical abilities are still in doubt, which is thought to have caused conflicts with Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola.
Although Kerkez feels he has performed well in the role, the Spaniard has occasionally kept him out of the matchday squad or the starting XI.
The player’s father, who is actively involved in arranging the child’s future, is reportedly eager for his son to move on as a result.
According to Duncan Castles on The Transfers Podcast, “Andoni Iraola hasn’t been particularly happy with Kerkez from a tactical perspective.” Additionally, there has been some disagreement between him and the player.
“Kerkez feels he’s playing well, but he’s not very happy with Bournemouth since he’s getting substituted off and missing certain games.
“Should a club be willing to enter at a very high charge, there’s a chance it may be taken advantage of.”
What role would Kerkez play on a new team?
For over €20 million, Kerkez left AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie last summer, and he has a well-travelled career already. He began his career in Hungary with Gyor, then went on to AC Milan and then AZ in the Netherlands.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia sustained long-term injuries last season, which caused Manchester United to have a left-back issue.
They returned loanee Sergio Reguilon to Tottenham and occasionally used forward Antony and midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in that role.
