At 75, Fiji’s Prime Minister Rabuka receives the Oceania Medal.
At the Oceania sports championships on Wednesday, 75-year-old Fijian prime minister Sitiveni Rabuka turned back time to earn a bronze medal in the shot put. Rabuka participated for Fiji in rugby union and the decathlon, shot put, discus, and hammer events at the 1974 Commonwealth Games. With a 7.09-meter throw, the head of the Peoples Alliance party came in second place behind two Australians in the over-65 age group at the Oceania Championships in Suva, Fiji.
“Even at 75, I hope to inspire the younger generation to develop a habit of keeping fit and staying healthy,” Rabuka stated in a Facebook post.
